Robertos Stonkutės kūrybinė praktika apima performansą, tekstą ir tarpdisciplininius projektus, kuriuose menininkė tyrinėja kūno, kalbos ir vietos santykį, ypatingą dėmesį skirdama atminties, buvimo ir laiko temoms.
„Žagarė man yra pažįstama vieta – čia jau esu įgyvendinusi trumpą performansą bei pristačiusi performatyvų savo poezijos skaitymą. Ši patirtis sustiprino mano susidomėjimą miesto atmosfera, joje slypinčiais istorijos sluoksniais ir nematomais pėdsakais.
Atminties tema Robertos kūryboje yra esminė ir asmeniškai svarbi. Kilusi iš Darbėnų – miestelio, kuriame žydiškoji atmintis taip pat yra reikšminga ir jautri kultūrinio kraštovaizdžio dalis – ji turi ir žydiškų šaknų, todėl šios temos refleksija jos kūryboje kyla ne tik iš meninio, bet ir iš asmeninio santykio.
Rezidencijos metu Roberta kurs prasmingą dialogą tarp praeities ir dabarties, sutelks savo dėmesį į atmintį, nematomus ženklus ir šiuolaikines paveldo interpretacijas, prisidėdama prie jautraus bei aktualaus santykio su Žagarės istorija kūrimo.
Rezidencijos rezultatas – performansas, tyrinėjantis Žagarės miesto grindinį kaip kolektyvinės atminties paviršių. Grindinys suvokiamas kaip fizinis archyvas, kuriame įrašyti skirtingų bendruomenių buvimo pėdsakai.

Roberta Stonkute’s creative practice encompasses performance, text, and interdisciplinary projects in which she explores the relationship between the body, language, and place, with a particular focus on the themes of memory, presence, and time.
“Žagarė is a familiar place to me—I have already staged a short performance here and presented a performative reading of my poetry. This experience deepened my interest in the city’s atmosphere, the layers of history hidden within it, and its invisible traces.
The theme of memory is central and personally significant in Roberta’s work. Originally from Darbėnai—a town where Jewish memory is also a significant and sensitive part of the cultural landscape—she has Jewish roots, so the reflection of this theme in her work stems not only from an artistic but also from a personal connection.
During the residency, Roberta will establish a meaningful dialogue between the past and the present, focusing her attention on memory, invisible signs, and contemporary interpretations of heritage, contributing to the creation of a sensitive and relevant relationship with the history of Žagarė.
The result of the residency is a performance that explores the pavement of Žagarė as a surface of collective memory. The pavement is perceived as a physical archive inscribed with traces of the presence of various communities.
