Eglė Valentinavičienė – keramikos kūrėja, kurios praktikoje susitinka žemės materija, žmogaus vidinis pasaulis ir šiuolaikinės aplinkos kritika.
Jos kūrybos ašis — žmogaus vidinio būvio ir žemės materijos simbiozė. Dirbdama su akmens mase, autorine sluoksniavimo ir formavimo technika, menininkė leidžia pačiai medžiagai tapti pasakojimo dalimi.
Menininkės darbuose rimtos egzistencinės temos dažnai persipina su ironija, siurrealistiniai vaizdiniai — su anatomijos užuominomis, o materijos gylis tampa būdu kalbėti apie vidines būsenas, trapumą, įtampą ir transformaciją. Keramika jai nėra tik objektų kūrimo priemonė — tai medžiaga, gebanti liudyti, skilti, kaupti, keistis ir atverti nematomus procesus.
Rezidencijos koncepcijos pagrindas siejamas su Tikkun idėja — taisymu, atkūrimu, pasaulio ir atminties gydymu. Menininkė šią temą jungia su Izraelio Salanterio ir Musar judėjimo palikimu, kuriame svarbios vidinės disciplinos, kantrybės, atsakomybės ir savistabos praktikos.
Rezidencijos metu ji kuria piešinių ciklą, kuriame susipins autentiški Žagarės paviršių atspaudai, žagarvyšnių šakelės, vietinės medžiagos ir grafiškas „atminties spragų“ atkūrimas. Naudodama Žagarės dolomitą, Švėtės molį, vyšnių anglį ir frotažo techniką, menininkė dokumentuos istorinių pastatų fragmentus, o grafito linijomis jautriai pratęs tai, kas nutrupėję, prarasta ar nebeįskaitoma.

Eglė Valentinavičienė is a ceramic artist whose work brings together the materiality of clay, the human inner world, and a critique of the contemporary environment.
The axis of her work is the symbiosis of the human inner state and the earth’s matter. Working with stone clay and her own layering and shaping techniques, the artist allows the material itself to become part of the narrative.
In the artist’s works, serious existential themes often intertwine with irony, surrealist imagery with anatomical allusions, and the depth of the material becomes a way to speak of inner states, fragility, tension, and transformation. For her, ceramics is not merely a means of creating objects—it is a material capable of bearing witness, breaking down, accumulating, changing, and revealing invisible processes.
The foundation of the residency’s concept is linked to the idea of Tikkun—repair, restoration, and the healing of the world and memory. The artist connects this theme to the legacy of Israel Salanter and the Musar movement, which emphasizes the practices of inner discipline, patience, responsibility, and self-reflection.
During the residency, she is creating a series of drawings that will interweave authentic imprints of surfaces from Žagarė, branches of Žagarė cherry trees, local materials, and a graphic reconstruction of “gaps in memory.” Using Žagarė dolomite, Švėtė clay, cherry charcoal, and the frottage technique, the artist will document fragments of historic buildings, while sensitively extending with graphite lines what has crumbled, been lost, or become illegible.
